Template types and permissions #
Contact templates are reusable messages for email, text and onsite message overlays. By default, only managers can create and edit templates. To grant a manager user this permission, edit the user in the Users list and enable the Can manage Contact Templates, Drip Campaigns and Action Plans permission in the Global Account settings.
Creating a new template #
From the Contact Templates page, click Create New Template. Choose whether it will be global or personal, select a template type and usage, and specify where it will be available. Give it a descriptive name and craft the message using merge fields like the lead’s first name, agent’s signature, day of the week or season. Keep SMS templates under 160 characters to avoid multiple segments.
Saving and editing #
Save the template to make it available. You can edit or delete templates from the same page. When sending messages in the CRM, templates appear in the drop‑down list for quick selection.
